HBIS Dahe Equipment Handsteel Company has produced shell steel of blast furnace and hot blast stove of a 650m3 blast furnace project for a world class client. The shell steel has passed independent third party tests and received high remarks. For this project, Dahe Equipment develops new technologies, beating difficulties in the industry, including Large diameter thin-walled cylinder uneven deformation control and ensured the high quality of the final products.
Traditionally, welding and heat treatment of large diameter thin-walled cylinder face great difficulties of uneven deformation, reducing dimensional precision and structural reliability. In this new project, a single shell of the BF exceeds 200tons, with a diameter over 9 meters, requiring strict mechanical capabilities, welding deformation control capabilities and overall roundness control to the materials.
To beat difficulties, Dahe Equipment assigned a project team to find new solutions in the whole process. By optimizing welding sequences, procedure diameters and heat treatment and precision control in the production chain, they significantly reduced the risks of deformation. They improve the rolling and formation procedures and managed to minimize the uneven of large diameter cylinder under +/- 2mm. Series of solutions contribute to the new products that meet new demands of precision, dimensional tolerance and welding quality control. All test results show that the products are well beyond design standards.
