Entering new stage and Empowering Across Domains. HBIS launched HBIS WeShyper 2.0, its all domain steel industrial AI Large Model in the New Plant in Tangsteel on January 15. This large model, independently developed by the HBIS Group, enables deep application across architecture and complex scenarios in R&D design, production manufacturing, and operation management. It establishes a collaborative intelligent system centered on “Large Model + Small Model + Intelligent Agent,” marking a demonstrative step for the Group on the “AI + Steel” track and pioneering a new chapter in the industry’s transition from “single-point intelligence” to “full-scope intelligence.” The launch was attended and officially initiated by Liu Jian, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the HBIS Group.
The launch event was attended by distinguished guests including Tang Zujun, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the China Iron and Steel Association; Song Xiangdang, Deputy Director-General Level Official of the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology; Wei Xiaojie, First-Level Inspector of the Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission; Liu Haofeng, Vice Mayor of Tangshan City; Meng Gang, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the Hebei Branch of China Development Bank; Su Tao, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the Hebei Branch of Bank of China; Guo Pengjun, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the Hebei Branch of China Construction Bank; Yang Di, Member of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the Shijiazhuang Branch of China Everbright Bank; Lu Jianhui, Vice President of China Mobile Hebei Company; Cui Enliang, General Manager of the Hebei Branch of ZTE Corporation; and Yang Jie, Deputy Secretary of the Laoting County Committee, County Chief, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee & Director of the Management Committee of Haigang Economic Development Zone. The event was chaired by Lin Zhangguo, Deputy General Manager of the HBIS Group, who also presented the official news release on the HBIS WeShyper Large Model 2.0.
The launch of the HBIS WeShyper Large Model 2.0 represents a concrete step by the Group in thoroughly implementing and advancing the national push to deepen and expand “AI+” initiatives and accelerate the cultivation of new growth drivers. It also stands as a demonstrative achievement in actively supporting the development of a “data-driven, intelligently integrated” Digital Hebei and promoting the empowerment of manufacturing transformation through digital-intelligent technologies. This move marks a pioneering step for the Group on the “AI + Steel” track and heralds a new chapter in the industry’s transition from “single-point intelligence” to “full-scope intelligence”.
Building upon WeShyper—the nation’s first vertical large model for the steel industry launched in 2024—the HBIS WeShyper Large Model 2.0 has, through over a year of technological breakthroughs and refined application in real-world scenarios, established a perceptible, decision-capable, executable, and evolvable full-scope intelligent agent system for steel production. It drives architectural innovation, empowers across all domains, and achieves breakthroughs in productivity, realizing a qualitative leap from an auxiliary tool to a core productive force and an evolutionary upgrade from the traditional “Language Model 1.0” to the “Steel Full-domain Intelligent Agent 2.0”.
In terms of architectural innovation, the HBIS WeShyper Large Model 2.0 has innovatively established an industrial intelligence system. This system is built upon the industrial Internet as its foundation, utilizes the synergy of “l(fā)arge models + small models” as its core capability, and operates through full-scope steel intelligent agents as its functional units. It spans the entire steel production process, enabling a closed-loop operation of “perception – planning – execution – optimization”.
In terms of full-scope empowerment, the model focuses on the complex scenarios of the steel industry. Horizontally, it integrates processes such as ironmaking, steelmaking, continuous casting, and steel rolling, enabling a productivity leap from single-point process optimization to a fully self-perceptive, self-decisive, and self-executive workflow. Vertically, it coordinates business links across planning, scheduling, and control, restructuring R&D, production-sales planning, cross-process dynamic scheduling, and on-site control into a closed loop centered on customer needs.
In terms of productivity breakthroughs, the model has been deeply applied across five key areas—enterprise management, marketing, manufacturing processes, product R&D, and green & low-carbon development—to drive systemic productivity enhancements. In marketing and customer service, the application of an integrated production scheduling large model has reduced scheduling time by 30% and achieved 100% on-time delivery for key customers; In breaking through the “black box” of manufacturing processes, the full-process one-click steelmaking intelligent agent enables modeled smelting, increasing the converter endpoint hit rate to over 90% and shortening the smelting cycle by 3 minutes; In high-end new product R&D scenarios, the establishment of a material database and a full-scope knowledge graph has shortened the development cycle for premium automotive steel sheets from 6 months to 3 months; In green and low-carbon development, a multi-dimensional energy-environment-carbon panorama has been constructed, achieving a reduction of over 3% in comprehensive energy consumption.
